Erling Haaland is going to play for Barcelona to 2026 and all roads are leading him to the club from Manchester City.

That’s according to Jota Jordi, who insists he’s been told that the groundwork is being done for Haaland to make the move to Barcelona in time for their stadium being finished.

Jordi recently appeared on El Chiringuito de Jugones to discuss the striker and the information he’s received on his future.

Haaland is currently tied to Manchester City on a deal until 2027 after arriving from Borussia Dortmund in a €60m deal in July 2022.

The belief, though, is that he is likely to leave the Etihad before that point thanks to a release clause included in his current contract.

Numerous reports have made it clear that there is a €100m+ clause in his deal set to potentially activate at some point in the near future, with the striker having had a similar clause at Dortmund and indeed before that.

He’s therefore been heavily linked with a move to Spain, with Real Madrid often cited as the destination, even though they appear to be on the verge of signing Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Jordi, though, insists it is actually the Catalans who will win the race for the Manchester City star, albeit in 18 months time.

“With everything they have told me, I dare say that Haaland is going to play for Barça in a year and a half. All roads are leading him to the new stadium,” he said.
