The summer sales continue at Lille, with the French club looking to bring in funds to balance their shaky finances. Sunday’s edition of L’Equipe brings West Ham, Tottenham, Newcastle United and Manchester City into the picture for Sven Botman.

21-years-of-age, the central defender moved to Lille in July 2020, signing a five year contract with the Ligue 1 club.

They’d rather not sell him, preferring to see the back of others instead, so a club would need to make a ‘delusional offer beyond €50m’ to convince Lille to part ways with the Dutchman.

Botman has been repeatedly linked with Premier League clubs, although there’s never felt anything concrete in the claims. West Ham, Tottenham, Newcastle and Manchester City have varying need, or not, for a new central defender, and it feels like clubs have been placed in the report without an awful lot happening.

A €50m price in the current window looks unreasonable and if Lille stick to that then they’re likely to keep Botman beyond the summer.
