Everton, Fulham, West Ham and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all in the race to sign Coventry City star Viktor Gyökeres this summer.
That’s according to O Jogo, who put the Premier League quartet as competitors for Sporting Club de Portugal to beat for the Sweden star’s signature.
The newspaper explains that the Portuguese side are keen on the Coventry man after his performances this season as they look to bolster their forward line.
He is currently valued at €20m by the Championship Play-off finalists, a figure that does not scare the Portuguese side at this moment in time.
The bigger problem is that a negotiation does not look easy because there is increased competition for the forward after a season in which he managed 22 goals and 12 assists this season.
Everton, Fulham, West Ham and Wolves have all shown an interest in the player and made it clear that he is ‘wanted’ by them this summer.
That’s a problem for Sporting as they know all four can outbid them if they wish to, particularly when it comes to wages.
That’s certainly the case for Fulham and West Ham, the latter of whom can offer Europa League football after their win in the Europa Conference League.
Everton and Wolves’ finances are a little more restrained, particularly the former, who still need to wait for possible sanctions from the Premier League for an alleged breach of financial fair play rules.
Regardless of that they, and the other two Premier League teams, are seen by Sporting as competitors for Gyökeres’ signature this summer.
