Friday’s edition of Sport claims Brazilian club Palmeiras need to raise funds and for this reason, they have put some of their young talents up for sale.
This includes Luan Cándido, who is on the radar of Barcelona, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Lyon.
The 18-year-old is primarily a left-back, but can also play on the wings and in midfield, which he did while representing Brazil U20 at the U20 South American Championship 2019.
He is considered as a jewel of Palmeiras’ academy and one of the brightest prospects in the country. The teenager’s progression has caught the attention of scouts from Barcelona, Pep Guardiola’s side and other clubs.
City agreed a deal with Palmeiras for Gabriel Jesus in 2016 and due to this, Sport claims the Premier League winners could have a ‘preferential option’ to sign Cándido.
The Brazilian club’s football director Alexandre Mattos was in Barcelona this week.
He is expected to continue his Europe tour as his aim is to return to South American after selling a few of the club’s youngsters so that they can move in the summer.
