Back in November, it seemed that Benfica were really afraid of losing their wonderkid Ronaldo Camará.
Reports from the Lisbon press first claimed that Manchester United were making an ‘intense’ pursuit of the teenager, and then claimed that the player was visiting the Red Devils’ facilities looking for a future move.
However, some updates this week claim the 15-year-old should be staying with the Eagles instead.
Outlet A Bola writes that Camará should be signing a new deal with Benfica by the start of 2019. He will be able to do it from the 5th of January, which is the date when he turns 16 and is eligible for a professional contract.
A Bola clams he’s been ‘attracting the interest from foreign clubs’, although they don’t mention Manchester United this time.
Now if the player’s staff were using United to get a contract at Benfica or if they gave up on the move after José Mourinho was sacked, we may never know.
