Jakub Ojrzyński will stay at Liverpool for a ‘longer time’ after he ‘signed’ a new contract with the Merseyside club.
That’s according to Polish website Meczyki, who state the young goalkeeper has further extended his stay with the Reds by signing a four-year deal.
Having arrived at the club’s academy in 2019, the 18-year-old signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in July 2020.
When the Premier League side were having difficulties in their goalkeeping position last season, the teenager was promoted to the first team squad. He was in the match day squad against Sheffield United last December.
Jürgen Klopp was impressed with the keeper whenever he trained with the first team and his good performances in the Premier League 2 and U18 Premier League last season have convinced Liverpool to offer him an extension.
It’s claimed the Premier League side have a ‘long-term plan’ for Ojrzyński and tying him down to a new contract until 2025 is the ‘perfect proof’ of it.
Ojrzyński will have huge competition in Liverpool’s first team, with the likes of Alisson Becker, Adrián and Caoimhin Kelleher currently ahead of him.
