Watford have emerged as a suitor for youngster Rachid Kouda, according to reports.
After a spell at Atalanta’s academy, the 18-year-old moved to the non-professional league when he joined Serie D side US Folgore Caratese in 2019.
His performances in the lower division in Italy have helped the midfielder get into the spotlight as Kouda is attracting interest from the Serie A clubs and also from England.
That’s what TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting and add the player’s ‘value has increased’. There’s no mention of any figures in the report.
It’s claimed Genoa scouts have watched the teenager in action in three successive away matches against Imperia, Vado and Sestri Levante in December.
Kouda is also ‘under observation’ by Cristiano Giaretta, the sporting director of the Hornets and ‘there would be a desire for a transfer to England’.
TMW add England as a destination is ‘appreciated’ by Caratese, meaning they are ready to allow the starlet move to Watford.
Watford, Monza and Genoa are keeping a track of Kouda, while he’s also on Sassuolo’s radar.
