With players like Robert Lewandowski, Wojcech Szczesny and Piotr Zielinski making names for themselves outside of Poland, clubs are on the lookout for the next big thing to come out of the country.

Manchester United are no different, as Nowiny explain they brought in 15-year-old defender (he’s down as a right-back on certain websites) Bartosz Matuła on trial from KGHM Zagłębie Lubin to see how he fared with their academy.

Well, according to the Polish outlet, things went rather well at Carrington, and despite him returning to his club following his stay at the club, the youngster will continue to be watched by the Red Devils in order to monitor his progress.

As his father said, this successful spell for the youngster will be good ‘not only for Bartek, but also for other players’, who will see there’s a reward for hard work, especially if the defender eventually does get signed by Manchester United down the line.

Whether that happens remains to be seen, but if the Premier League side were happy with him and he continues to work hard, why not?
