‘Yes or yes’ – Spanish newspaper Marca explain Barcelona are under huge pressure to find a positive outcome to the Coutinho saga.
The club believe they need an injection in attacking midfield, and given how far down the road they are with Coutinho, they need to get the Brazilian over the line.
During the summer, failures in the transfer market hit Barcelona hard, explain Marca. Senior figures in the dressing room were annoyed by the situation, and Marca say it even delayed Lionel Messi’ renewal with the club.
There was a worry Barcelona weren’t entirely committed to getting the best team possible on the pitch.
That’s all the more reason not to mess this one up, and should help Liverpool get a bigger fee. Marca have been more respectful than the Catalan press towards Liverpool and they state Barcelona are fully aware they’re dealing with a very big club who don’t have to sell.
There’s a huge effort on, and part of that is from Coutinho’s entourage, who have been pushing strongly for the transfer since the summer. With everyone trying to get a deal done, Marca say there’s even some sources at Barcelona would have let it slip a presentation could be made on Monday.
Now that the presentation rumours have started, this one could heat up further.
