Over the next few weeks, one of the most consistent transfer rumours for the January market is likely to be potential swap between Everton and Roma.
While the Giallorossi are interested in Bernard, the Toffees are said to be willing to include goalkeeper Robin Olsen in the deal.
Now this story should get stronger than ever, because the Brazilian’s agent has spoken to the Italian press, and confirmed the chances of an agreement.
Interviewed by La Roma 24, Adriano Spadotto was first asked if Bernard’s transfer was discussed with Roma’s new director Tiago Pinto or only with manager Paulo Fonseca.
“I’ve talked about it several times, but only with Paulo Fonseca,” Spadotto told La Roma 24.
Then he was quizzed if there’s the chance of a swap between Bernard and Olsen: “Yes, that’s possible.”
Earlier today, a few updates could be found in the Italian press.
Most of them are claiming that for Roma to sign Bernard, they should send Olsen to the Goodison Park and still pay a fee of around €7m. However, due to the Brazilian’s big wages at Everton, there’s still some way to go in the negotiations.
