There are several Belgium injury worries for Roberto Martinez right now, reports HLN, and unfortunately for Crystal Palace, Christian Benteke is one of them.
Benteke will be eager to get some minutes for Belgium during the current international break, having missed out on Martinez’s squad for the World Cup in Russia.
It’s a chance for the striker to turn a corner and rebuild his international career, adding to better club form, and he won’t want to miss it.
HLN report Benteke, Marouane Fellaini, Nacer Chadli and Simon Mignolet are all injury concerns for Belgium. On top of that, Koen Casteels and Toby Alderweireld had time off this week with both their partners giving birth to daughters.
Benteke played the full match for Crystal Palace against Southampton at the weekend, as Roy Hodgson’s men fell to a 2-0 defeat, and it seems to have been since then that the injury has shown itself.
Belgium manager Martinez is quoted by HLN as saying: “There are some worries around Benteke’s knee, but we also watch Chadli, Mignolet and Fellaini.”
