Trabzonspor are “working intensively” to sign midfielder John Lundstram from Rangers this summer.
That’s according to manager Abdullah Avci, who has insisted they continue to work on signing the midfielder from Ibrox.
Lundstram is expected to leave Rangers this summer, with his current deal at Ibrox coming to an end and it long established that Philippe Clement and his team want to move in a different direction.
He’s long been linked with a move to Turkey and several reports from the country have indicated that Trabzonspor had already reached an agreement in principle for him to move from Ibrox this summer.
Indeed, Clement hinted at that being the case this week ahead of the clash with Celtic in the Scottish Cup final, insisting that any decisions on players will be made by him and his team and not determined by the will of the supporters.
That comment was in response to Lundstram potentially being handed a farewell by Rangers this weekend but did hint at other matters too.
In the meantime, Trabzonspor continue to push for Lundstram should he leave Ibrox, at least according to Avci.
“We are working for a sustainable and competitive Trabzonspor,” he said.
“We are working intensively regarding the transfer (of Lundstram). There will be information about him soon.”
