Wolves are on the verge of missing out on Filip Krovinovic, according to A Bola. The Portuguese newspaper reports that Benfica are edging closer and closer to agreeing a deal to sign the Rio Ave player.
In their Saturday edition, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claimed Wolves had made a €3m offer for the 21 year old Croatian midfielder, and there was also reported interest from Ligue 1 side Nice.
Even then there was confidence Benfica would win through, but now A Bola say the Portuguese champions could have everything wrapped up in the next few hours.
Were Wolves genuinely interested? It’s difficult to fully know, especially with the current situation at the club.
Wolves will be a likelier destination for Portugal based players, especially ones wrapped up in Fosun or Gestifute investment.
Equally, the club’s name could be used to spice transfer stories up, create an illusion of wider interest, or to hurry clubs along to complete deals.
