Greece’s Page News claim Nelson Oliveira could remain with AEK Athens despite strong interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Earlier this week we covered reports from Greece that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were lining up an offer to sign the Portuguese striker, but the next day it was claimed AEK had rejected Wolves’ opening bid, which was said to be €4m.
At that time the Greek press said AEK are looking to get €6.5m from the sale of the player, which is his release clause, and Wolves were expected to return with an improved bid.
However, Page News report Wolves could stick to their first offer, and, if that’s the case, AEK won’t sell the 28 year old in this window.
Despite Oliveira’s reported desire to return to the Premier League, AEK are insistent with their demands and aren’t willing to back down just because it’s what the player may want.
Another Greek source, Tovima, report the transfer is now ‘stagnating’.
