Vitória Guimarães’ André Almeida has been linked to Wolverhampton Wanderers repeatedly this summer. Four days ago, the Portuguese club’s president, António Miguel Cardoso, said offers received for the midfielder are far from their demands.
Cardoso didn’t categorically mention or hint whether Wolves have made any proposals for Portugal U21 international.
Bruno Lage’s side continue to be named as the contender to sign the 22-year-old, and that’s the case in today’s edition of Jornal de Notícias.
Almeida has less than 12 months left on his contract, which includes a €50m release clause. Vitória Guimarães have an option to further extend it by a year.
His future is unlikely to be at the Primeira Liga side. The report states one of the signs he is leaving the club is that the player has not been included in Vitória Guimarães’ captain’s list for the 2022/23 season.
In fact, Almeida is ‘getting closer and closer to leaving’ the only club he has had in his professional career.
Although his ‘farewell seems inevitable’ from Vitória Guimarães, Jornal de Notícias don’t give any update on what Wolves are doing about their interest.
