Arsenal are considering a move for VfL Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix if William Saliba were to leave the club this summer.

That’s according to Media Foot, who explain the Gunners are ‘not yet certain’ of retaining the Frenchman at the Emirates.

Saliba impressed during his season-long loan spell at Marseille last term. This has convinced the Ligue 1 side as they are now pressing to sign him again. He is their priority target to strengthen their defence.

The north London club invested €30m to acquire his services from Saint-Étienne in 2019 and are looking for at least for the same fee for the centre-back, who has not yet made an appearance for the Premier League side.

Arsenal are taking all options into account, including the possibility of parting ways with Saliba. Mikel Arteta wants to rely on the 21-year-old next season, but the English club are listening to offers for him.

Therefore, Arsenal have the idea to sign Lacroix to replace Saliba. The Wolfsburg player, with a contract until 2025, is also followed by West Ham United.
