According to reports in the Swedish media, Werder Bremen have an agreement to sign Djurgarden defender Felix Beijmo.
The defender in the past week has again been linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers after the Premier League side’s attempts to sign him in the last window.
Expressen today report the 20 year old is nearing a move to Germany and will have a medical tomorrow. The Bundesliga club have been linked with Beijmo in the past few weeks, and are expected to pay 30m Krona for the player.
Werder Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann has also told Fotbollskanalen a deal for Beijmo is close: “We have reached an agreement in principle with the player and his club. Tomorrow he comes to Bremen for a medical examination. I think everything will be clear then.”
Wolves were in talks to sign Beijmo in January, but a deal never materialised. More recently the English club have again reportedly been showing an interest in the fullback, along with Bournemouth.
However, it seems Wolves will lose out to Werder Bremen, who look to be on the verge of officially announcing the Swede’s arrival.
Beijmo would have been one for the future at Wolves, which is probably why the Premier League side haven’t tried harder to beat Werder.
