The Portuguese media today highlights the big competition there is to sign Chiquinho from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.

It had already been said that clubs such as Sporting and SC Braga are interested in keeping the player in Portugal, where he just had a loan season at Famalicão.

Now newspaper Record is back with a fresh story saying there are also clubs from abroad who’d like to sign Chiquinho. Those are Villarreal in Spain and Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.

It’s said Wolves are still to receive any official offers for the player, but his agents are already aware of all that interest.

According to the outlet, manager Gary O’Neil will have Chiquinho available for the pre-season and will see what he can do, given what he’s shown at his loan at Famalicão.

Only then Wolves are set to make a decision on what to do with the winger this summer.

Playing for Famalicão, Chiquinho had five goals and four assists in 27 appearances this season. He’s currently valued by Transfemarkt at €3m, and has a contract with the Molineux side running until 2026.
