Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Yerson Mosquera is leaving the club on a loan deal, according to reports from his home country.
Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra writes that the 21-year-old is ‘very close’ to joining Troyes on a temporary move.
It’s said Wolves already have an agreement with the French club for a season-long loan, with no buying option included in the deal.
Sierra, however, points out there’s also a Championship side who’ve been interested in the player. Still, it’s not made clear whether there’d be time for this club to hijack a deal.
Mosquera joined Wolves in a €5.2m move from Atletico Nacional last summer. In his entire season with the club, he only made one appearance, when he was used by Bruno Lage for nine minutes in an EFL Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur.
This season, he was even taken to the bench a couple of times, but it seems clear that he’ll continue not having many chances to play. So at this age, a loan abroad is definitely a better way for him to get some experience.
