Last week, we relayed news from Brazil that Wolverhampton Wanderers have opened talks for Murillo. They are not alone as Nottingham Forest and a few other clubs are in the picture to sign the Corinthians player.

The Premier League duo have taken further steps in their pursuit of the defender, according to Goal in Brazil.

It’s claimed Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Fiorentina and Napoli have all tabled bids to secure the 21-year-old’s services and their offers have been turned down by the Brazilian club.

The report states the highest bids were from Fiorentina and Gary O’Neil’s side as they both offered €12m. It wasn’t enough to convince Corinthians, who have demanded €20m to sanction the Brazilian’s sale.

Goal state the South American club could be willing to negotiate for a lower price and ‘there are those’ [likely agent/intermediaries] working to try and agree a deal for €15m.

However, the report adds the Corinthians board are standing firm and continue to insist on wanting €20m to let go of the centre-back.

Goal doesn’t mention whether Nottingham Forest and Wolves are planning to return with improved bids to sign Murillo.
