Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Nic Elvedi will not sign for Wolverhampton Wanderers today, despite reports to the contrary.
That’s according to journalist Dominik Schneider, who says there is no agreement in place between the two clubs at this moment in time.
Reports in England yesterday had claimed that Wolves were close to signing Elvedi as they look to strengthen their defence following the departures of Conor Coady and Nathan Collins.
With Max Kilman also linked with a move to Italy that would leave Julen Lopetegui’s squad short and it seems they have targeted Elvedi.
However, the confidence in England appears to be wide of the mark, with Schneider insisting that he ‘will not sign today’ despite the reports saying otherwise.
While talks with Wolves are happening, the two clubs have not reached an agreement and therefore Elvedi won’t be moving to Molineux that quickly.
According to Fussball Transfers’ information, negotiations are ‘ongoing’, but the player’s agency have insisted that anything being signed today is ‘not realistic’.
While Wolves are in pole position, talks with other clubs are ongoing so no decision on the player’s future has been made as yet.
