Douglas Costa’s loan move to Bayern Munich isn’t working out as well as he’d have hoped. The Juventus owned player has been given 281 minutes in the Bundesliga, and a further 226 in the Champions League.
For the weekend match against SC Freiburg he didn’t even make the German club’s bench, and it’s not thought to be injury related.
Gazzetta dello Sport report his loan move could be ended this month, with Juventus then looking to send him to the Premier League or La Liga. It’s explained there’s been interest from England previously, with the Italian newspaper stating ‘above all Wolves and Manchester United’.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been linked repeatedly down the years, although it’s questionable whether Manchester United, currently top of the table, would want to take a gamble on the 30-year-old Brazilian.
As for Wolves, it’s doubtful they’d want to go anywhere near his €6m after tax wages.
Gazzetta explain that despite playing for both Juventus and Bayern this season, Costa would be allowed to represent a third club with FIFA softening that regulation given the impact of Covid-19.
Linking Manchester United and Wolves feels more through hope than expectation.
