Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fábio Silva has insisted he gets “confirmation every day” that he made the right choice in joining PSV Eindhoven in January.
The youngster recently sat down for a conversation with PSV Supporter Magazine to discuss his time at the club so far after arriving in the winter window.
He had originally been on loan with Belgian side Anderlecht but cut that deal short in January after an apparent falling out with the management at the Belgian side.
It had been suggested he would return to Wolves and reinforce Julen Lopetegui’s side but they instead elected to send him back out to continue his development under Ruud van Nistelrooy at PSV.
That’s proven to be a smart decision, with Silva continuing to impress and bagging four goals and one assist in 10 games for the club so far.
Indeed, they’re impressed by what they’ve seen so far, with it made clear on several occasions, and even by Van Nistelrooy himself, that they intend to try and sign him again for next season.
That will depend on Wolves and Silva, although he insists he is happy where he is, after pushing for the transfer when it was offered to him.
“It’s going well. I like it, I think Eindhoven is a very nice city and the first impressions are of the Netherlands are also good,” 1913 PSV Fans report him saying.
“I get confirmation every day that with PSV I have made the right choice for my development and future.
“From the moment I heard PSV were interested, I really only wanted one thing: to play football for PSV. So, my choice was quickly made.
“Unfortunately, I’m not in a position where I always have influence over where I end up playing, but fortunately the clubs were quick to agree and so I was able to make this step.
“I had a good time in Brussels, but PSV is something else. A club that has produced so many big names like Romário, Ronaldo and also Ruud van Nistelrooy. All in my favourite position as well. Yes, I really wanted to come to PSV.”
