Nathan Collins and Max Kilman were the first-choice centre-backs at Wolverhampton Wanderers last season.
Collins has completed a move to Brentford while Napoli are keen to sign Kilman. Therefore, Wolves would have to bring in at least one new central defender in this window.
Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson could be an option for Wolves. That’s according to Takvim, who say the Premier League side made a €15m bid for the defender during their ‘first meeting’ with the Turkish club.
It’s claimed Galatasaray found the proposal to be low and ‘immediately turned down the offer’. They have even informed Julen Lopetegui’s side that a fee of €25m is needed to let go of the 24-year-old.
Nelsson is a key player for Okan Buruk and Galatasaray have decided not to consider any offers below €25m. Takvim relay claims made elsewhere that Wolves could return with an improved proposal in the next few days.
The centre-back, for his part, has informed the club about his desire to play in the top five leagues in Europe. There’s been no concrete movements for his exit since his suitors have not met Galatasaray’s demands so far.
Lopetegui’s side are not alone in the chase as claims from Turkey have stated Tottenham Hotspur are showing serious interest in the Dane.
Despite the Turkish claims, €20m may well be enough.
