The time has come for exits at AS Roma, with the Serie A side simply having too many players in their squad currently, and Wolves could be the destination for one.
Multiple players are being edged towards the exit door, and Eldor Shomurodov is one of those. The 27-year-old old attacker signed for Roma in 2021, moving from Genoa where he’d been since a switch from Rostov.
Last season he made 28 appearances for Roma, mainly brief ones as a substitute, and found the back of the net three times.
La Repubblica, via Pagine Romaniste, report that after interest from Germany, it’s now from England that efforts are being made. Wolves have ‘made progress’ on signing the player, and it would appear they’re trying to find out the costs of a transfer.
Tiago Pinto, who is Roma’s sporting director, is insistent that Shomurodov must leave on a permanent transfer, or a loan with clauses so easy to reach it would work like a redemption obligation.
There’s no indication of what Wolves think of that, and they may have some competition from Bologna.
