On May 14th, Super Deporte reported Wolverhampton Wanderers’ officials held a meeting with Valencia in April, and various options to sign Rafa Mir was discussed.
The La Liga side are ready to offer one of Gonçalo Guedes or Lee Kang-in to Wolves in order to sign the striker.
Mir is currently on loan at SD Huesca and the English club have plans to sell him in the summer.
Another report from Super Deporte states Los Ches will have to sell first before making a new signing. Guedes is one of the players who has a good market value and his exit would also help the club to lower their salary budget.
According to them, the ‘puzzle operation’ with Nuno Espírito Santo’s side is ‘taking shape’ since Wolves are ‘interested’ in both the Portugal international and Lee.
Valencia agreed a €40m deal with Paris Saint-Germain for Guedes and they still have to pay €23.3m to PSG. It’s claimed the Spanish side are looking for a similar figure to sell the winger after this season.
Lee has a year left on his contract and Valencia are looking to make cash through his sale.
The Spanish club are ready to let two of their players join the Premier League side, if Mir could be allowed to join them on loan, with a possibility of making his stay permanent in the future. ‘This is the operation’ Valencia are currently working on.
Super Deporte also explain Wolves’ offer is not the only one that’s on the table for Guedes as two other English clubs are ‘interested in him.’ The details of the other two Premier League sides are not mentioned in the report.
The ‘puzzle operation’ involving Mir, Guedes and Lee is ‘taking shape’ and there could be more developments involving these three players in the coming weeks.
