It’s not every day we’re stumped, but the latest claim regarding Wolverhampton’s interest in Andrea Favilli has done just that.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport supposedly had an update on the young Juventus striker’s future, but we can’t find it.
We’ve spent a considerable amount of time looking for it, and it might be it’s out there, but we have our doubts.
The fact no other website other than TMW has picked up on the Wolves story is a bit strange, as normally all of the fan websites also have their coverage of claims in Corriere dello Sport, but they are nowhere to be seen.
The Italian website relay the newspaper as saying Wolves want to buy the 21-year-old permanently, while Juventus, who have only just signed him from Ascoli for £6.75m, would prefer to loan him out.
That’s where Empoli come in, who are said to have made contact with the Italian champions about a temporary deal for the 19-year-old.
There were mentions of €20m being invested by Nuno’s side, something Empoli wouldn’t pay.
The only Empoli article in Corriere concerning Favilli we’ve managed to find dates back to Sunday in their Firenze edition, but there’s no mention of Wolves.
It could be that Wolves interest is being pushed in order to flush out other clubs, there were several articles last week linking the Premier League club.
