Wolverhampton Wanderers’ interest in Sporting midfielder João Palhinha went ‘cold’, according to claims from Portugal today.
As newspaper O Jogo brings a story about the Lions’ transfer window, and it’s said the club still plan to let the 25-year-old go.
Sporting are demanding €15m for the move, and CKSA Moscow seem to be the most interested side. They want to pay €10m, but could end up finding a deal for €13m or €14m.
There was only one club who seemed eager to match the Lisbon side’s demands, and that was Wolves. It’s said the Premier League side ‘promised’ to reach the €15m required.
But O Jogo says the interest from Wolves went ‘cold’, and now it’s a lot likelier Palhinha will end up moving to Russia.
Interestingly, once Sporting sell Palhinha, they plan to spend the money on signing Paulinho from Braga.
Both of these players were said to be close to Wolves this summer, and as things stand, it seems neither of them will be moving to Molineux.
