Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Daniel Podence is close to signing for Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab.
That’s according to journalist Santi Aouna, who reports that the 28-year-old is set to move to the Saudi Pro League.
Reports throughout the summer have linked Podence with a move away from Wolves this summer, with him seemingly not a part of Gary O’Neil’s plans.
He spent last season on loan at Olympiacos, managing 15 goals and 13 assists in 47 games in total but the Greek side didn’t move to sign him permanently.
Those impressive numbers have not convince Wolves, who are looking to move him on, with his current deal expiring next summer.
That now appears to be close to happening, with Aouna reporting that he is close to signing for Al-Shabab.
He makes no mention of a potential transfer fee, or the nature of the transfer itself, just that Podence is close to swapping Wolves for Saudi Arabia.
That’s a continuation of reports from two days ago, which stated that Al-Shabab were in advanced talks with Wolves over a dal for the 28-year-old.
It’s a situation to keep an eye on, particularly for the details, but appears to be progressing quickly and close to being done.
