It appears that Wolverhampton Wanderers are going to be getting the midfield reinforcement they have been chasing after all.

This comes courtesy of Santi Aouna, journalist for Foot Mercato, who took to Twitter to reveal that Wolves and RC Strasbourg have ‘reached an agreement’ for the transfer of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

For those who haven’t been following, it’s been a day of ups and downs for the Molineux side, who are looking for a replacement for Matheus Nunes.

Their first bid of €8m this morning wasn’t accepted by the Ligue 1 side, but the player missed training out of precaution as he waited for the two clubs to reach an agreement.

It was then revealed that Strasbourg wanted close to double what Wolves were offering, which did put the deal in doubt at one point.

However, those appear to have now been pushed to one side, as Wolves have now reached an agreement with their French counterparts.

How much for isn’t said, but what appears certain is that Bellegarde will leave his current club to move to the Premier League, where he will be playing under Gary O’Neil.
