Wolverhampton Wanderers are in the picture to sign FC Porto’s Mehdi Taremi.
The striker has a deal lasting until 2024 and has been repeatedly linked with a move to Inter Milan.
FcInterNews provide the latest on this case and also mention Wolves’ desire to secure his services.
The Serie A side failed to take the 31-year-old in the last window as they deemed Porto’s €30m request to be high. This resulted in them signing Marko Arnautović, who is yet to fully convince Simone Inzaghi this season.
Inter’s idea is to take the Iran international for free next summer and offer him a deal worth around €3-3.5m per year. This was communicated to his entourage a few weeks ago.
FcInterNews state Taremi has offers from Saudi Arabia, but he aims to continue in Europe.
Wolves could be an option as they have ‘come forward’ to sign him. It’s even said Gary O’Neil’s side would have ‘no problem making him a significant offer’.
Inter’s move for Taremi in January depends on two factors, Arnautović and Porto. Wolves could take advantage of this, to try to beat the Italian club, by making a ‘significant offer’ in the winter market.
The report states that as per Taremi’s plans, a move to Wolves wouldn’t be a step forward from a sporting point of view. Therefore, the English club would have to be convincing, if they are to stand a chance of beating Inter to his signature.
It’s worth noting that Wolves interest hasn’t really been strongly covered in Portugal, so it’s worth waiting for that reaction.
