Wolverhampton Wanderers are ‘also in the battle’ for Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara after Newcastle United made a late bid to sign him.
That’s according to Foot Mercato journalist Dhabia Hattabi, who, cited by fellow journalist Constant Wicherek, says they also want to make a late effort.
Le Phoceen reported earlier today that Newcastle had sent a late bid for Kamara, with Marseille needing to sell before they can carry on adding to their squad.
The newspaper did not offer any details on the bid, whether it was a loan offer or full transfer offer or anything of that nature, just that a bid had been sent from St James’ Park.
It seems Newcastle face a fight, though, with Wolves now having also turned up to try and get a deal done.
Details are again thin on the ground, with it not even stated that they’ve made a bid, just that Bruno Lage’s side are ‘also in the battle’.
That would suggest they are showing signs they want to compete with their Premier League counterparts, although whether Wolves is a more attractive destination to the player than the North East remains to be seen.
