Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking at a move for Fortuna Dusseldorf striker Kenan Karaman to cover the loss of Raul Jimenez.

Jimenez looks set to miss a chunk of the rest of the season as he recovers from a fractured skull, leaving Wolves with just youngster Fabio Silva as their only fit number nine.

It’s widely expected that they will look to add to their ranks come the January transfer window, and according to Fussball Transfers, Karaman is on their list.

The Turkish striker has three goals in nine games in the 2.Bundesliga this season but has been linked with a move away from the German club as his contract expires next summer.

Reports this week linked him with a move to Sampdoria and FT back those up but add that Wolves are also interested in his signature.

They reportedly see him as an ‘inexpensive option’ that can provide ‘short-term leeway’ in Jimenez’s absence and there’s a belief he could become a ‘hot topic’ at Molineux in the near future.

Given his contract expires next summer they are presumably eyeing up a cheap move in January, although that isn’t made explicitly clear.

The likelihood is that Karaman is one of several player Wolves are looking at, so he’s certainly a name to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
