Towards the end of the summer window, we covered claims which stated Adil Aouchiche was keen on leaving Sunderland. It was also said the 22-year-old was looking for a club that will allow him to flourish, but a deal never took shape.

A fresh report from DZ Foot points out his failed summer move when covering the latest about Aouchiche’s situation at Sunderland.

The attacking midfielder came off the bench against Sheffield Wednesday in August and didn’t make another appearance in the league until the end of November.

Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris didn’t include the player in his core plans for the first months of this season, but his situation has changed over the past weeks.

Aouchiche made four appearances for the Black Cats this month and even played the full 90 minutes in 1-0 defeat to Stoke City at the weekend. It was his first start of the season and could be the start of his rival at the Championship side.

DZ Foot state his situation at the Stadium of Light improved after he ended up convincing the Sunderland manager.

Aouchiche had a ‘very difficult’ start to the season, but he’s finishing this calendar year ‘without regrets’.
