Manchester City are part of the battle with Real Madrid for Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, who is yet to decide where his future lies.

That’s according to AS, who say the ‘will of the player will be key’ on deciding whether his future lies away from Bavaria or not.

The newspaper explains that the possible signing of Davies is on its way to becoming a new summer soap opera for Real Madrid.

They want the full-back and are confident of reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign him next summer, a year before his contract comes to an end.

Conversations with his agent, Nedal Huoseh, have been intensifying in recent weeks and there is a willingness on both sides to reach an agreement.

However, Bayern are refusing to give up on the player and there is increasing competition for his signature as well.

Several English teams, including Manchester City, have also shown an interest in signing the Canadian and the ‘will of the player will be key’.

This is where Madrid think they may have an advantage, particularly after this summer, when they managed to beat Manchester City and several other big sides to the signing of Jude Bellingham by convincing him that the Santiago Bernabeu was the best destination for him.
