Are you a Watford player who hasn’t been linked with Udinese? Yes? Well you’re either crucial to Nigel Pearson’s team or so out of the picture everyone has forgotten you exist.
Over the past few weeks, several players from the Premier League club have been linked with a move to the Serie A side. The Pozzo family balance their clubs and squads to make the most of the footballers available to them, even if sometimes the moves can seem bizarre.
One of those came from Italy on Tuesday, with Tutto Udinese covering claims of Joao Pedro being linked with the club.
They believed the transfer to be unlikely, and then published a second article pretty much ruling out the Brazilian and naming Filip Stuparević as the likely option.
Watford also own the latter, and he recently played a friendly game with Udinese.
Getting Joao Pedro would have been an unlikely dream for Udinese, and they may have faced issues with FIFA.
The 18 year old has already played for Fluminense and Watford since the start of the European season, so isn’t allowed to play for a third club. However, given the Brazilian season runs on a different calendar, that may have been a debating point.
Regardless, the media close to Udinese believe it’s Filip Stuparević rather than Joao Pedro who is likelier to join.
