Cagliari striker Giovanni Simeone has recently hinted he would be open to a move to West Ham United.
The Hammers are on the hunt for a new striker this month, having allowed Sebastien Haller to leave for Ajax.
They’ve been linked with several strikers over the last week, and Simeone has been named as a potential target in Italy, with it believed that his club are open to a surprise sale.
While their stance is clear, it is not yet known whether Simeone would be keen on the move, having spent the majority of his senior career in Italy so far.
It seems West Ham are in luck, though, with Marca referring back to comments the striker made about a potential move somewhere else in Europe.
“I’m fine in Cagliari, but I want to change at some point in my career to continue growing. Spain or I really like England. Playing in other countries makes you a better player,” they report the player saying.
That possibility is now seemingly on the table if the latest reports are to be believed, although it remains to be seen if West Ham’s interest is a serious as it seems.
They appear to be focusing their efforts on Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri at this moment in time, but that could quickly change by the end of the window.
It remains to been seen what way the Hammers go, but if Simeone is the one they way, it seems he will be more than open to switching Italy for England. Marca say ‘the possibility is now on the table’ and a West Ham transfer could be on.
