West Ham United are ‘following’ Club Brugge defender Jack Hendry after his impressive performances for the Belgian side.
That’s according to Voetbal Belgie, who say the Scotland international is being ‘courted’ by several sides in the Premier League.
Hendry joined Brugge in the summer in a €4.5m deal for KV Oostende, where he spent last season on loan from Celtic.
He had found himself ‘in the doldrums’ at Celtic Park but established himself as a star for Oostende and has done so again for Brugge this season.
That’s not gone unnoticed by clubs in the Premier League, with West Ham one of three said to be ‘following’ his performances this season.
There is no mention of whether the Hammers have been in touch about a possible move or anything of that nature, just that they are watching him and he could be a target in future.
There’s also no mention of what Brugge would be looking for, although they’d surely want to make a profit on the €4.5m they paid in the summer should Hendry leave at any point.
That’s something to work out down the line of course and for now it seems West Ham are just in the background and keeping an eye on how the 26-year-old gets on this season.
