West Ham United have entered the picture to sign Juventus’ Luca Pellegrini, according to claims from Italy.
The left-back spent the last two seasons on loan with Cagliari and Genoa, and during his temporary stay with the latter, injury concerns restricted him to only 12 appearances.
He’s found it hard to find a way into Massimiliano Allegri’s plans as the 22-year-old has featured only once for the Old Lady this season.
Sampdoria wanted him in the summer and they are still thinking of the former AS Roma man.
That’s according to Corriere di Torino, relayed by Club Doria 46, and they add the defender’s departure from the Turin club is ‘very likely in the near future’, presumably in January.
Sampdoria, however, are not the only club looking at the player and they are now joined by the Hammers. It’s claimed David Moyes’ side, who like the fullback, are also ‘on the trail’ of Pellegrini.
Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku are currently the two left-backs at West Ham. If the Hammers were to sign Pellegrini, he would likely replace Masuaku at the London club.
