West Ham are unlikely to be able to secure the signing of Amine Gouiri this summer, with Nice not interested in selling the 22-year-old.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the French side do not want to part with the player this summer.
Earlier this year we covered a report from Italy that stated West Ham were interested in Gouiri, who had scored 11 goals for Nice at that point in the season.
He finished the campaign with 12 goals and 10 assists in 43 games, numbers that had earned him plenty of interest as a result.
FM say West Ham are one of those who were ‘very interested’ in a deal but Nice aren’t keen on any negotiations.
They have ‘other plans’ for their star man and a departure is ‘therefore absolutely not on the agenda’ at this moment in time.
That is ‘not good news’ for his suitors such as Stade Rennais and West Ham, who were ‘very interested’ in the 22-year-old but have now been brushed off instead.
The Hammers will at least be comforted by the fact they’ve just secured Gianluca Scamacca, so their forward line at least has one new face in it. The Italian won’t be joined by Gouiri, though.
