West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has been left ‘irritated’ by the recent turbulence at Bayern Munich as he wants ‘stability’ above all else.
That’s according to SportBILD, relayed by FCB Inside, who say the midfielder is having doubts about a move to Bayern Munich this summer because of the recent turbulence at the top of the German club.
The West Ham star is hot property this summer after his continued impressive performances this season in both the Premier League and Europe.
Bayern Munich have recently entered the race for his signature, with numerous reports claiming that they are serious about a move. Indeed, it’s believed that manager Thomas Tuchel and other members of the club’s management met the midfielder in London last week.
However, it seems they have some work to do on convincing Rice as he is ‘keeping a very close eye’ on the situation at Säbener Straße.
According to SportBILD, he is ‘irritated’ by the recent events at the German champions, which have seen Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic both depart their roles as club director and sporting director.
Rice’s previous contact had been with the latter and the fact he was there one day and gone the next has not gone down well as he values ‘stability’.
Bayern now need to act quickly to show the player and his entourage that they are still interested in signing him from West Ham and Tuchel is playing a key role on that front. He has made it clear Rice is his ‘absolute favourite player’.
He’s working alongside Karl Heinz-Rummenigge in planning a transfer and while they are willing to go to the limit to get Rice, there are ‘considerable doubts’ about whether it will be feasible.
That’s because West Ham are demanding €100-120m for the England star, a big fee even for a club the size of Bayern. They are yet to hold ‘concrete negotiations’ with the Hammers yet, though.
