West Ham United midfielder Manuel Lanzini has claimed it would be “crazy” for the Premier League to return before there is a vaccine for the Coronavirus.
Football across England is currently suspended indefinitely as the country battles against the spread of the virus.
Several deadlines for the game to return have already been missed, with it currently unknown whether this season can be completed.
There is seemingly a desire from the 20 clubs in the division for the season to be completed, although how that may happen is as yet unknown.
Discussions have been ongoing for several weeks, with numerous scenarios and plans already discussed.
West Ham indicated early on that they were opposed to the season continuing when Karen Brady called for the campaign to be voided, an opinion that received much criticism.
“It would be crazy to play again until there is a vaccine,” he told Closs Continental.
“If you tell me if I want to play, obviously, but you need to protect others. I would not start now.
“I have an hour to do the work that the teacher left me, I’m only with a distance companion. In the club, we are with one or two people. When I finish, another colleague comes.
“We cannot use the facilities or the changing rooms; we have to be changed when we arrive.
“Tomorrow we have to do some work because they believe that the league will return, next week we would train as fives and in two weeks the whole group.”
