West Ham United have tried to include Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd in the potential deal for Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who cover West Ham’s bids to get Todibo today and the various proposals they’ve already put forward.

They explain that Todibo is coveted by half of Europe this summer after getting his career back on track with Nice in the last few years, but it is West Ham who have made the initial moves, making a €35m proposal last week that was rejected.

That, though, was not the first offer that they have made for the defender, and they had in fact sent two previous proposals to Nice.

According to Foot Mercato’s information, the Hammers first offered Kurt Zouma plus a sum of money to sign Todibo this summer.

That was rejected by Nice, so they then returned an instead offered Nayef Aguerd and money, a proposal that was also rejected out of hand.

The French side don’t particularly want to sell Todibo this summer and have made that clear, but it seems if they are forced to do so, they want to secure a big sale and not a proposal including other players as makeweights.

Thus, West Ham’s two proposals including Zouma and Aguerd were rejected, and they will instead have to up their €35m bid if they want to add the centre-back to Julen Lopetegui’s squad.
