It’s fair to say that, for now, West Ham United’s partnership with Gianluca Scamacca simply hasn’t worked out.

While there is still time for him to turn things around, as he only joined in the summer, but with €36m spent, a better return was expected, and the Italian simply hasn’t impressed as much as he should have.

That’s why there are reports in Italy, with Il Corriere del Pallone the latest, claiming that West Ham are interested in M’Bala Nzola.

The Spezia striker has been in fine form this season for the Serie A club despite the rest of the team struggling for form, and that has attracted interest from other clubs.

West Ham are one of those, and the most recent report explains the striker would be available for an amount of ‘between €10-15m’, seen as ‘not an excessive expensive’ for clubs keen on him.

AS Roma are among those, as are the Hammers, who are ‘ready to spend the money needed to sign him’ despite their expenditure on Scamacca last year.

Udinese and Torino are also thrown in there for good measure, meaning West Ham will have to see off some potentially stern competition if they are to sign Nzola.
