West Ham United are looking at Club Brugge’s Hans Vanaken to bolster their squad this season.
Earlier on Tuesday, Het Belang van Limburg reported the Hammers made a €10m offer for the attacking midfielder and their proposal was deemed ‘completely inadequate’ by the Jupiler Pro League winners.
Despite Club Brugge not wanting to let the 29-year-old leave, he is ‘more open than ever’ to joining West Ham in the current window.
That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad, who state the Premier League side are aware of the player’s stance.
West Ham are not ready to give up on the Belgium international and are ‘preparing the second bid’ to sign him. David Moyes is said to have been keen on the player for the past two years, and continues to pursue him.
The report doesn’t mention the level of offer West Ham are expected to return with, but it’s obviously got to be a chunk higher than the last.
Club Brugge continue to insist Vanaken’s sale is ‘not negotiable’ this summer. It remains to be seen whether they can maintain their position if the English club make a tempting offer.
