West Ham and Leander Dendoncker might have gone quiet in Belgium over the past month or so, but RMC Sport in France have just rekindled it nicely with an article about the Belgium international’s future.

According to the French outlet, Lyon have joined the fray to sign the Anderlecht starlet, who is expected to be allowed to leave by the Jupiler Pro League side this summer.

RMC Sport explain the defensive midfielder/centre-back is high on the Ligue 1 club’s transfer shortlist, but that the Champions League club will have to face competition from England, notably West Ham, if their quest to sign Dendoncker.

The Hammers are labeled as being ‘in pole position’ to sign the Belgian, as Anderlecht hope to receive around €30m from his sale, with the Premier League side wanting to build their defence around the 23-year-old.

However, that figure isn’t expected to be a ‘minimum’, as RMC believe his club could let him go for a ‘slightly smaller amount’ should everyone be happy with what’s on the table.

It’s good to have you back, Leander. We’d started to miss you.
