Despite West Ham’s great season under David Moyes last year, the Hammers aren’t immune to other teams around them wanting their players.
And we’re not even talking about the big teams above them, no, we mean Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and Southampton.
That trio, managed by Bruno Lage, Patrick Vieira and Ralph Hasenhüttl respectively, are but three of many Premier League sides to have taken an interest in signing Issa Diop this summer.
This is according to Foot Mercato, who claim that Wolves, the Eagles and the Saints are ‘interested’ in the French defender, who only managed to fully convince his Scottish manager towards the back end of last season.
The 24-year-old made 21 appearances in all competitions last year, and it might be that reluctancy to fully trust him that has caused Wolverhampton, Crystal Palace and Southampton to come forward.
Foot Mercato state some of those asked for a loan with a view to buy, ‘without success’ for now, but there’s still a long way to go in this transfer window, and we’ll have to wait and see how West Ham react if any of the aforementioned trio, or another club, come forward with a more enticing offer.
