Felipe Anderson isn’t having a great start to life at FC Porto. On loan for the season from West Ham, the player was quickly questioned about his attitude when arriving in Portugal.
It was made clear to the Brazilian that he hadn’t been signed by Porto so he could have a gap year, and then his sister, who at times also acts as his agent, managed to make things worse.
Giving a statement to the media, she said previous agents had arranged the loan away from West Ham, and that she would look to speak to Porto to clarify Felipe Anderson’s role and future at the club.
Of course that didn’t go down well either, and so far the 27-year-old has amassed just 49 minutes for Porto in Liga NOS and hasn’t appeared in any of the club’s Champions League matches.
Now he’s getting praise for actions off the pitch.
Record report that on Friday, he bought and delivered food to a local charity, to help people struggling during the pandemic. Felipe Anderson was quoted as saying: “It is a small gesture for a greater good. If we all have small gestures, we can make a big difference in the lives of many people.”
This has been widely covered by the Portuguese media and should go some way to helping the West Ham player get back in the good books.
