Former West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic signed Sead Haksabanovic from Swedish club Halmstads BK in 2017.
The attacking midfielder hardly featured in his debut season for the Hammers and isn’t in the short term plans of the new manager, Manuel Pellegrini.
Spanish newspaper AS claims the former Manchester City manager and the Premier League club’s sporting director, Mario Armando Husillos, decided to allow the Swedish-born player to join Malaga.
Haksabanovic will join the Spanish club on a loan deal and the latter will not have an option to sign the 19-year-old on a permanent transfer, which suggests the Hammers see a long term future for him.
The report claims the midfielder already travelled to Malaga from Gothenburg on Sunday and the teenager is expected to undergo his medical tests today before signs a contract. His loan move from West Ham is expected to made official today.
The loan move should help Haksabanovic get regular playing time and therefore help his development.
