West Ham United have seen an official €12m offer for Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior rejected by the Italian club.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb and La Nazione, who cover the Hammers’ efforts to sign the defender today.
The first explains that Kiwior, who is highly valued by the likes of AC Milan, was the subject of a €12m bid from West Ham.
That negotiation has not ‘taken off’, though, because Spezia do not want to lose the player immediately. They would be open to a sale but on the condition he remains at the club for this season, presumably on a loan deal.
At the moment the Hammers would prefer to take him to the London Stadium straight away and that has ‘put the brakes on the transfer’.
La Nazione back that up, stating that Kiwior ‘will remain at Spezia’ this season despite the interest in him.
According to their information, the Italian club sent West Ham’s €12m offer ‘back to the sender’ and the preferred transfer would be one to AC Milan.
Spezia’s plan is to now look at the situation after the World Cup in Qatar, which they think can be something of a showcase for the defender and thus raise his value.
He will be staying where he is, then, with them having little to no interest in selling to West Ham for now.
